I downloaded and installed an all-in-one driver set directly from RaLink and it worked perfectly.
Nice, but I need this thing working now.Īfter hours of searching I gave up and ran hardware diagnostics to determine the chipset. Overall Review: After chatting with a Linksys rep and getting a confirmation that no driver was available online, they offered to send me a replacement CD. If you lose the CD there are no drivers available for WMP11 V2 on the Linksys website. No Info on chipsets (version 2 is made by RaLink) Problem came when I had to rebuild the PC and realized I lost the CD. When I bought this card I had no problems installing it, it worked right out of the box, though the installation process was annoying. Overall Review: 'generic' adapter driver from vendor has been running flawlessly for > an hour - will report back if it fails to stay up

My environment is Win 2k SP2 (had to downgrade from SP3 after Linksys rep acknowledged card won't work with that SP version - and Linksys has no plans to fix that :).512MB, 900Ghz processor - which I mention because this card did work in a PC w/2GB RAM, 2Ghz processor using Linksys drivers but under Win Wireless Zero Configuration (Linksys reps also told me NOT to use Linksys Monitor - go figure).other forums revealed options to try & Linksys forum (search on WMP110 freezes my PC) contained a suggestion (albeit for Vista 64-bit) that ultimately worked for Win XP sp2.go to device mgr, find Device Instance ID, ven_XXX will be a number or ltr/num combo that you can google to find who that is - go to their site, download appropriate driver (mine was Atheros Comm)- remove all traces of Linksys drivers, and monitor pgm so you can install vendor driver you downloaded & installed Pros: When it's good, it's very, very good - but when it's bad, it's horrible :)Ĭons: As has been widely noted, this card is extremely tempramental and Linksys-supplied drivers don't work well.
